The short version: You can cancel anytime. Your listing never disappears — it reverts to our free Basic tier. No contracts. No cancellation fees. No hassle.

1. Our Cancellation Philosophy

At Find Boat Services, we believe you should only stay with us because we’re delivering value — not because you’re locked into a contract. We keep our cancellation policy simple and transparent because that’s how we’d want to be treated as a small business ourselves.

We are a veteran-owned, independently operated directory. Your trust matters more to us than locking you into a subscription.

2. How to Cancel

Cancelling your paid subscription is straightforward and can be done in two ways:

  • Self-Service: Log into your Merchant Dashboard, go to “Billing” or “My Account,” and cancel directly. Your cancellation takes effect immediately and your paid features remain active until the end of your current billing cycle.
  • By Email: Send a written cancellation request to aaron@midwestboatingservices.com. Please include your business name and the email address associated with your account. Requests are processed within 1 business day.

Important: To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, your cancellation must be submitted at least 48 hours before your scheduled renewal date. Cancellations received after this window will take effect at the following renewal date.

3. What Happens to Your Listing

Here is exactly what happens when you cancel — and what does not happen:

  • Your paid features (priority placement, Featured Pro badge, photo gallery, click-to-call, etc.) remain active until the end of your current paid term.
  • When your paid term ends, your listing automatically reverts to our free Basic tier — it is never deleted solely because you cancelled a paid subscription.
  • Your business name, address, and category information remain in the directory as a Basic listing, keeping your business discoverable by Midwest boaters.
  • If you decide to re-subscribe to Standard or Premium in the future, your listing is ready to upgrade immediately.

Your listing stays live. Always. Cancelling a paid plan means downgrading to Basic — not disappearing from the directory.

4. Refund Policy

All subscription fees are non-refundable. This applies to both monthly and annual plans.

  • Monthly Plans: If you cancel mid-month, your paid features remain active through the end of the current month. No partial refund is issued for unused days.
  • Annual Plans: If you cancel mid-year, your paid features remain active through the end of your annual term. No pro-rated refund is issued for unused months.

We understand this is a firm policy. We set it this way because we invest in building and maintaining your listing from day one — including our manual verification process and, for Founding Members, the Captain’s Chair: Pro Spotlight article. These are costs we incur immediately upon your subscription.

6. Auto-Renewal

All paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle to ensure your listing maintains uninterrupted paid placement. You will receive a renewal reminder email no less than 7 days before your renewal date.

If you do not wish to renew, simply cancel before the 48-hour window prior to your renewal date using either method described in Section 2.

7. Failed Payments

If a scheduled payment fails, we will notify you by email at the address on file. You will have a brief grace period to update your payment information before your listing reverts to the Basic tier. We will not immediately downgrade your listing without notification.

8. Founding Member Price Lock

If you subscribed to Premium as one of our first 40 Founding Members, your subscription rate is locked at the price you originally paid — even if we raise rates for new subscribers in the future. This price lock remains in effect as long as your subscription remains active without a lapse.

If a Founding Member cancels and later re-subscribes, the price lock no longer applies and the then-current rate will be charged.

9. Company-Initiated Cancellation

Find Boat Services reserves the right to suspend or terminate any listing that violates our Advertising Terms & Conditions — including providing false business information or engaging in conduct that damages the integrity of the directory. In cases of termination for cause, no refund of paid fees will be issued. Please review our full Advertising Terms & Conditions for details.
